Description[]
It was founded in east Germany in 1946 as a state owned company. The company was turned into a normal corporation in the early 90s. The state still owns 30% of the stock.
When originally sold, the potato compartment (Soviet version of the glove compartment) on all their vehicles came equipped with 3 potatoes and 1 sausage. Also, there's a clock in the dashboard that was always set to Moscow time. The vehicles made in post-Soviet times have the clock set to local time and the meal includes some salad and a non-carbonated non-alcoholic beverage, to make a healthy balanced meal.
