Volt Medici is a liberal political party in New and Improved Medici. The party came to fame after shocking pollsters which predicted the party would not win any seats in Parliament.
The party offered confidence and supply to the government of Guilio Fauci.
The party is a member of The Left - Democratic Union of Medici.
History[]
The party was founded as a split from the youth-wing of the Liberal Socialist Party, the Lib-Left Youth. Ernesta Villa, the incumbent leader of Volt, and former deputy leader of both the Lib-Left Youth and Liberal Socialist Party, left the Liberal Socialists as they disagreed about European integration. Villa believed that the people of Medici need "A platform for Europe and EU integration."
On the 5 November 2017, Ernesta Villa formed the Green-European-Medici Association and the group became associated with the European Green Party and co-operated with other EU factions, such as the EPP, S&D and Renew Europe.
In December the association re-registered as a party, and renamed to become Volt Medici, as they built relations with Volt Europa.
In 2019 the party shocked Medici in a surprising 5.1% of the vote in Medici's election. They refused to join the left-wing coalition, however, and acted as confidence and supply for the government.
In 2020 the party formed a successful electoral alliance for the local elections that year with other Pro-EU parties.
In 2021, they endorsed Messalina Vasco as candidate for President.
In 2022, they joined the opposition and maintain that position currently.
