The Sons of Pandak is a faction in Just Cause: Panauan Horizon.

They are a militia supporting the Senja Selatan Armed Forces and is the official state sponsored militia of the Senja Selatan. While it is the state sponsored militia of the breakaway country, it double as the armed faction of the Pandaki Party.

As Fil Marsyal Hartono created the Pandaki Party, he knew that the military could not assume responsibility for the Tri-Point PMC's. As a way for Fil Marsyal Hartono to cover his close friend and foreign benefactor Thomas Hanson, the creation of an armed faction for the political party would be formed to save Thomas from international sanctions and legal battles, and Fil Marsyal Hartono would take the blows and responsibilities.

History[]

The Sons of Pandak was started on the 31st of August, 2018, right after Fil Marsyal Hartono blew up the former prime minister, Fil Marsyal Vikal. Hours after Letnan Jenderal Hartono assassinated the previous prime minister, he assumed power and became the next Prime Minister of the Senja Selatan, and also received the automatic field promotion of Fil Marsyal. Fil Marsyal spent a considerable amount of time as the new prime minister to revamp the Senja Selatanian political atmosphere and its armed forces. As the Armed Forces of the Republic of Panau was reclaiming East Tanah Raya and the Panau Tengah Bay in rapid succession, the Sons of Pandak and the Senja Selatan Armed Forces would reclaim East Tanah Raya with brute force and power later in 2018, which lead into the initial phases of the Seizure of the Palaut Archipelago.

Activity and Operations[]

The Pandaki Party typically utilizes the Sons of Pandak for many different purposes. They are often seen working alongside the Senja Selatan Armed Forces with militaristic functions, the Senja Selatan Internal Security Service with patrolling and maintaining the peace, and the Senja Selatanian government with peacekeeping operations.

When working with the Senja Selatianian Armed Forces, the Sons of Pandak are often utilized as expendable troops. They are often first in the field to patrol the front lines, to fight the Armed Forces of the Republic of Panau, or to help with other auxiliary work that progresses the conflict. They are also often seen guarding or protecting unmarked areas where the SSAF might be operating.

When working with the Senja Selatanian Internal Security Services, they are often seen breaking up protests and riots if they occur, suppressing successionist groups, securing national security, and also halting any and all operations of any illegal factions.

When working with the main governement, the Sons of Pandak are often seen with peacekeeping operations in contested or recently acquired areas. This not only makes the Senja Selatanian government look good, but it also allows the SSAF troops to continue pressing forward.

Criticism of the Sons of Pandak[]

Numerous Panauan citizens who work in Senja Selatanian watchdog groups and organizations say that the "Sons of Pandak are basically unvetted mercenaries who have a thrill for power and control." Other comments were made such as calling them "armed thugs with an overzealous security "officer" mentality."

Tri-Point Private Military Consulting often falls under criticism from the Federal Government of the Republic of Panau for "allowing mercenaries to enter Panau and cause havoc" and vows to "press charges to any remaining survivors upon their defeat."

Others nicknamed Tri-Point Private Military Consulting as "Tri-Point Private Mercenary Company."

Tri-Point PMC is criticized often by many government from other countries around the world for hiring people that are seeking a better life, better pay, or a way to support their families, but have no clue how to fire a weapon or have not the slightest clue on what situations they will be faced against.

Trivia[]

  • In the original Just Cause 2: Panauan Uprising story, the Sons of Pandak were intended to be a much bigger and larger force of militants (to best describe them) and "restore Panau to what it was." In fact, they were supposed to be the main antagonist. However, they were minimalized to an armed faction of a political party.
  • The author did not know how to write properly back in 2019. The Sons of Pandak had no history or formation. But he knew he wanted to write a story, but did not know how to do it.
  • The author wanted to keep the Sons of Pandak, but he did not know how to make them as big as he wanted to originally because it simply would not have been realistic. The Senja Selatan Armed Forces ended up being what the Sons of Pandak was supposed to be, but even then - the SSAF is not nearly as bad as what the Sons of Pandak was intended to be.
  • The Sons of Pandak, as Just Cause: Panauan Contingency is being written, is depicted to be a "massive group of untrained and unvetted mercenaries carrying out official tasks and battlefield objectives." This was the only logical, if not foreseeable way the author could get away with the "Sons of Pandak being this big, bad, and evil group doing bad things" type of faction, as originally intended. However, even this may be subjected to change.
