Reunion is a mission in Operation Indigo.
Plot[]
Starting where the previous mission left off, Sheldon's boss warns him that if things do not resolve soon, things could get bad quickly. She dismisses him so he can figure out what is going on, suggesting he contact any former friends from his agent days. He leaves and contacts a buddy of his, turning out to be Rico Rodriguez.
The call goes straight to voicemail, with the next scene revealing that Rico retired on a beach somewhere after being burnt out from the events of Just Cause 5. He turned his gear in at an undisclosed location, having to rip off his left arm because he couldn't take his grappling hook off. He went under the radar so no one could disturb his peace. The flashback then fades back to the present, with Tom not knowing how to contact him. Then, out of nowhere, a strong wind assumes the appearance of a hand with a thin, transparent light grey outline and picks him up.
He is brought to Rico, who is surprised that he knew where to find him. Tom explains that the wind carried him there, which Rico does not believe. Before leaving, the wind swirls around the two, de-aging them and changing their clothes to their Just Cause 4 appearances.
The two now need to find out the next order of business, but the wind runs away before it can be used again. They can either look for Rico's gear or left arm, but they both decide the gear is more important as it could be in wrongful possession.
Trivia[]
General[]
- This is the first mission to not be a pun of any kind.
- This is Rico's first appearance in this fan fiction.
- This mission references the ending of Just Cause 3, which ended with Rico sitting on an Avalanche Studios deck chair under an umbrella, with a whiskey next to him. In both instances, he retired temporarily.
- This is the wind's first major role, bringing Tom to Rico and changing their appearances.
- This mission's original name was "Riunion", replacing the 'e' with an 'i,' making the first two letters match the first two letters of Rico's name.
- At this point, it is unknown how the wind is so intelligent.
Notebook Synopsis[]
