Overnight Oversight is a mission in Operation Indigo.
Plot[]
We start with the scene showing Hem, Rico, Sadiyah, and Tom in the courtyard, awaiting transfer. It will happen tomorrow, so they need a way out before they are transferred to the main prison complex, which is the most notorious one in the universe as no one has ever escaped from it.
Meanwhile, at Refugee Camp, Lee and Mira are just getting finished listening to the healer's plan. Mira does not approve of it, as if it goes wrong, they could end up locked up permanently with no way out. Because of this, she contacts a familiar face to help with her plan, which is assumed to be much riskier and insane. This contact happens to be Izzy, whose hacking skills will come to use soon.
Back at the internment camp, the inmates are sent to their cells. Shortly after Tom and Rico enter their cell, the former gets an idea. At lunchtime, they will escape by hiding somewhere they will least expect it. Rico likes this idea, but asks what they will be disguised as, with Tom simply replying that it will make no sense. In the cafeteria, Sadiyah and Hem overhear the other two whispering, which catches the attention of a guard. Sadiyah and Hem walk over to Tom and Rico's table to ask what their plan is. The guard walks up to the four and tells then to not do anything suspicious or he will have to use force. They keep whispering to each other, which gets on the guards nerves. He ends up kicking them out of the building. He then runs up to them, grabs them, and throws them into the chasmic river.
The four manage to land on a small ledge outside the loading area, which prompts Tom to tell the others that his plan was to get themselves kicked out for suspicious behavior. His reasoning is that, since the universe does not make sense anymore, that must mean that literally anything can happen. The same guard from earlier then walks up to them with an inviting look on his face. He says that him kicking them out was a mistake, and they are welcome to come back. Uzveld then shows up from below the ledge and takes them to the transfer location, which is the main prison complex, Pírxun Mún. They then welcome them back, despite none of them being in the prison before. They are now in a basket at the main entrance of the facility and all four of them are trapped in colored egg shells, terrifying all four of them.
The warden of this prison then appears and takes the basket to Cell Block I41. Just like last time, Tom and Rico are in one cell and Hem and Sadiyah are in another. This is where the mission ends.
Trivia[]
- Concerning the title card:
- Due to the one letter off nature of the two words, the 'n' and 's' are situated within the same word.
- From left to right, the colored streaks represent Rico, Tom, Hem, and Sadiyah.
- Rico is the only one whose color does not match his normal outfit. Instead, it is meant to match his color in the comic style scenes in "Rogue Agent".
- Despite the phrase "familiar face" implying a hatred or distrust for the healer, Mira is actually on good terms with her after Deluge Refuge.
- Easter egg: Hem, Rico, Sadiyah and Tom are sent to Pírxun Mún via a basket and are trapped in colored egg shells. Coincidentally this article was released on Easter Sunday.
- The cell block is a pun on the phrase "I, for one".
- This mission marks Izzy's debut, even if only her voice is heard.
