The Medici Communist Party or Partito Comunista dei Medici is a faction in New and Improved Medici and fiction by GMRE.

History[]
The Medici Communist Party was originally founded in 1937 during the civil war in Spain. At the time they were supported by communist Russia, who were interested in using Medici as a naval base to better support the large-scale efforts in Spain. This started the Fourth Civil War of Medici (1937 to 1939).
During the war, the communist rebels had successfully taken control of Rocca Blau, Libeccio, Capite Est, Insula Lacrima and most of Maestrale. However, the government forces managed to defeat them once they cut off the supplies from Russia. As a result, the party was banned and remaining supporters arrested/purged.
During the Cold War, the party was banned. Although Medici was officially neutral, there still were members of the government who were known to support the east as well as western powers. The party was temporarily legalized in the early 1980s, but failed to gain more than 9% of the votes and remained in the opposition.
Later the party was banned again under the rule of Di Ravello.

Current status and agenda[]
After the defeat of Di Ravello, in what is now known as the Fifth Civil War of Medici, the party was re-legalized, along with all other political groups. So far they are estimated to represent about 4% of the voters.
They are very friendly with the Russian Federation and are rumored to receive some type of assistance from them. They are also friendly with North Korea and have studied their economical policies.
Main campaign promises:
- Make Medici officially recognize several Russia-backed puppet-states.
- Sell Bavarium to Russia and North Korea.
- Stop diplomatic relations with western nations.
- Convert Medici to a planned and centralized economy.
- Abolish the Medici National Guard and replace it with their own stormtroopers.
- Strongly oppose modern liberal ideas, like political correctness, feminism, snowflakeism and sexual minorities.
Less extreme communists are represented by the Communists of Medici party.
Criticism and controversy[]
They have been heavily criticized by the local media and western nations for their campaign promises.
They have been accused of only being a puppet for Russia and being the legal front for secretly receiving and setting up military equipment for a planned armed conflict to seize power.
Prominent members of the MCP have denied these claims and dismissed them as "fascist fake news", "libtard conspiracy to discredit them" and as "blatant lies".
The New Medici Military have stated that, to their knowledge, there are no weapons being shipped into Medici for any faction.
Local celebrity DJ Santosi has expressed moral support for them, but has denied any official association with them.
