Just Cause: Panauan Horizon[]

This is a LEGACY PAGE of the first iteration of "Just Cause 2: Panauan Uprising".[]

On the 23rd of September, 2023, the story has started to be rewritten. However, it is merely a side project due to the author having an immense amount of spare time.

The author was looking over the previous story and figured that it was poorly written. Due to the author having both military and worldly experience under his belt, he figured that he could "make something substantially better out of this". Additionally, his writing skills have improved over the year.

Just Cause 2: Panauan Uprising is set to be a story with the genres of: political thriller (and political fiction), espionage, fictional adventure, suspense, crime fiction, and war stories. Unlike the original story, all of the characters will have backgrounds and personalities, and every faction will have a clear goal and intent. The original story featured an extremely loose political structure with even weaker dialogue between characters. The rewritten story will have much better dialogue than before and a more believable plot.

The story will be written in Adobe InDesign with MLA Format and will be distributed via view-only PDF. However, there are plans to make the story into an audiobook, completed with AI voice acted characters, tone-setting music. Originally, the story was written exclusively on StoryFire - which was an at-the-time promising "alternative" to YouTube, but with a much broader premise. However, due to many controversies and a falling out with the platform, the author resorted to Adobe InDesign with infinitely less creative restrictions.

Just Cause 2: Panauan Uprising shares many similarities as the original story and shares the exact same plot, but with better writing and expansion.

Just Cause 2: Panauan Uprising is a fan fiction project by SpartanEditor777, set in Panau ten years after the events of Just Cause 2. It is a StoryFire exclusive by the author "Sonoda" and can only be read on there.

Panauan Uprising Synopsis[]

In 2009, the Obama-era U.S. Government sent in Agent Rico Rodriguez, Agent Maria Kane and Agent Marshall to kill the autocratic president, Pandak "Baby" Panay, while eliminating the government in the process by helping three major criminal factions. After the Agency was done in Panau, they appointed a new U.S. friendly president and left the island completely. By doing this, Panau was flung into a decade long civil war, where gun and drug smuggling operations were rampant, human trafficking was in full force, and petty gangsters had the opportunity to become full-blown criminal overlords.

Panauan Uprising follows the story of six agents from the Agency who are sent on a secret operation, dubbed "Panauan Freedom", to restore the Republic of Panau, nine years after the events of Just Cause 2. Their mission is to protect the United States and restore democracy, peace, and prosperity in the Republic of Panau. By doing so, they must end the drug and gun smuggling operations from Panau, human trafficking, defeating all criminal factions within Panau, liberate provinces, military property, cleanse civilized areas, and form a brand new government.

Episodes[]

All episodes in the United States of America use Eastern Standard Time (EST.).

The Republic of Panau uses Greenwich Mean Time (GMT.).

Episode 1: Pilot[]

This is a narrative episode that covers the recent history of the United States' warfare, leading up to the secret operation in the Republic of Panau. From Bush's war on terrorism and finding fictitious WMD's in Iraq to Obama's continuation of the endless wars in the Middle East, the American People were becoming more and more outraged and discontent that the government was deploying countless troops and wasting millions upon billions of dollars. However, no one was ever focused on Panau... Panau was South East Asia's best-kept secret, after all.

Episode 2: The Art of The Deal[]

On January 2nd, 2019, a private meeting was held in the Situation Room between President Trump and CIA Adviser Daniel Hawkins in regards to growing international urgencies. The Republic of Panau was the main concern of the meeting. President Trump was very reluctant on sending troops to Panau, as he was trying to pull out of the Middle East and end unneeded wars. However, CIA Adviser Daniel Hawkins did convince Trump that an unresolved Panau will affect the border crisis and Americans at home worse than it already is by bringing up the illegal gun and drug smuggling operations, human trafficking, and illegal immigration routes all coming from Panau. The two eventually reached a deal of six experienced elite agents being sent as a "Clean Up Crew" of sorts to operate in Panau.

Trivia:

  • The title is an unironic direct reference to Donald Trump's 1987 book "Trump: The Art of the Deal" with intentions of humorless wit.

Episode 3: Meet The Agents[]

On January 8th, 2019 at 9:00 EST on the dot, six days after CIA Adv. Daniel Hawkins' private meeting in the Situation Room with Donald Trump, all six specifically and carefully chosen special agents operating all around the world were summoned by the Agency. As they all landed and unloaded at the Joint Andrews Air Force Base as instructed, they had a quick greeting with their advisor Daniel Hawkins and rode to the White House for mission prep.

Trivia:

  • Only two of the six, Desmond and Adams, had worked with each other only once, but the rest introduced themselves to each other for the first time.

Episode 4: The Set-Up[]

On January 8th, 2019 at 9:30 PM EST, with all of the Agents collected for their upcoming mission, President Trump and CIA Adviser Daniel Hawkins discuss what the agents will be doing over there, and where they will land for mission debriefing. The Panauan Government is on the brink of losing Selatan Archipelago. The team will arrive at Paya Laus. They were provided with updated PDA's fit for modern times. The modifications these PDA's include are direct talk, note-taking, and a higher resolution 3D view of the Panauan map. Furthermore, the Agents, CIA Adviser Daniel Hawkins, and President Donald Trump discussed and launched Operation Panauan Freedom.

Episode 5: Operation Panauan Freedom[]

Ep5

On October 9th at 11:00 PM EST, one hour before midnight, on a dark, wet, and rainy night, Operation Panauan Freedom was in full effect. CIA Adviser Daniel Hawkins and the Agents arrived at the Joint Andrews Air Force Base, where they met their C-130 pilots Elang and Yuda who will take the Agents to Panau. The agents flew over the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea, into Panauan airspace. Upon reaching Panauan Airspace, the USAF Pilots ran into trouble with unknown Panauan hostiles in Si-47 Leopard jects. Refusing to land, the Agency's C-130 was shot down and crashed into a forested hillside next to Paya Laus, their original LZ.

Trivia:

  • The original operation name was going to be "Operation Upturn," defining that the Agency was going to make the situation in Panau better in the end. Instead, a decision was made to rename it to "Panauan Freedom," a throwback to the Bush Administration.
  • Both Elang Yee and Yuda Kuek are both Sunni-born Muslims from South East Asia.

Episode 6: Clean Up Crew[]

Ep6

On January 11th, 2019 at 8:50 AM, The Agency's C-130 was shot down. The Panauan Si-47 jet fighters substantially damaged the plane with all Agency equipment and personnel on board. The agents grasped their rifles and belongings for their dear life while trying to find cover to survive the crash. They hid under benches in the plane, in cargo boxes, or whatever they thought was going to protect them just enough. All agents were rendered alive but not operational. Commander Ayad Gung and Colonel Qaid Shing witnessed the Agency's Bering I-86DP get shot down. Commander Ayad Agung commanded all operational Panauan troops to shoot down the Si-47 Leopard in an attempt to save the Bering I-86DP. Commander Ayad Agung and Colonel Qaid Shing, alongside two Panauan troops, drove an MV Quartermaster and rushed to the end of the road leading to Pekan Hutan Buluh. On foot and into the hillside forest, the Panauan personnel collected Agency assets, agents, and investigated the scene. However, one of the agents was still operational and became alarmed, resulting in him fleeing the scene and going his own way.

Episode 7: Lost But Not Gone[]

On January 11th, 2019 at 8:50 PM, The Panauan Military took in the five agents to medical treatment in Paya Luas. The team learns about the disappearance of Agent Zhang, and they learn about the Sons of Pandak. Commander Ayad Agung details the transpired events, the notably missing agent, the faction that shot them down, and what to expect next. The trio also learns about the bloody history within the past 10 years, and how unpopular the new president is.

Trivia:

  • This is the first time the agents learn of Panauan President Fadil Baswedan's immense unpopularity from a government level.

Episode 8: Agents on a Crutch[]

On January 18th, 2019 at 1:00 PM, one week after the crash, the agents are barely able-bodied to fight. They have been given the task to defend Palau Kait, Before they move out to their mission, they are arming up and getting ready in the courtyard beside the barracks of Paya Luas. They have to acknowledge that their bodies are still semi-broken and that they must watch themselves.

Trivia:

Episode 9: Defending Palau Kait[]

On January 18th, 2019 at 1:30 PM, the Agents arrive at Palau Kait in an MV Quartermaster. Agent Adams was dropped off in front of the hill overlooking the base so he could provide cover support. The Sons of Pandak were on their way, so the agents had to hurry and round up troops. The commotion from the battle was enough to gain the attention of Panauan Troops in the neighboring communication center behind the hill Adam was on. The mission ended with a victory. Had it failed, the Sons of Pandak would have taken the bases bridged to Palau Kait without heavy competition.

Trivia

  • It was considered to allow the Sons of Pandak to win, but it would have resulted in a longer story with lengthier details. It would have also guaranteed the death of two agents, making the Panauan Freedom harder to achieve.

Episode 10: Concerning The Agent[]

On January 18th, 2019 at 3:15 PM,

To be continued.™

Story Development[]

Panauan Uprising is a series of episodes in text format and is a StoryFire exclusive series by the author "Sonoda". It was first debuted on October 21st, 2019 in Butte, Montana, and continued development in Moab, Utah and Torrey, Utah. (To be updated.)

Characters[]

This section has been added in on the 7th of December, 2023. This is only describing characters as they were written in 2019. No history is being rewritten and all character bios are being described exactly as they were when they were first written.

(The 2023/2024 reboot will have the same characters, but they're given much better writing.)

Daniel Hawkins | Daniel Hawkins is the case officer of the Panauan Uprising case. Not much is known about his past, other than he works for the Agency and carries out their bidding.

President Donald J. Trump | He is the 45th President of the United States. He was seen in the earlier episodes before "Panauan Uprising" was approved. He was seen briefing all of the agents of the mission with the assistance of Daniel Hawkins.

Desmond Reed | Desmond was born on the 16th of April in 1973 and joined the CIA when he was 22 back in 1996. He is an Army veteran and wanted to be a Secret Service agent. He had a particular fondness of submachine guns and handguns, alongside the art of stealth. Before he was called to the briefing, he raided a terrorist's home in Chicago.

He has brown hair and blue eyes, and measures at six feet and two inches with a slender build.

Logically, he joined the Army in 1992 at the age of 18 and signed a four year contract under an role unspecified MOS. To be in a position where he was raiding a terrorist's home, he would have to be under the FBI, rather than the CIA. This is due to the CIA being outlawed from operating from within the country, as that's the FBI's role. This is a result of poor writing.

Adam Gray | Adam was born on the 4th of July, 1960 and joined the Marines at the age of 23 and became a sharpshooter back in 1983. He claims that he had proper knowledge of environmental navigation and concealment skills. Then on the 6th of July in 1990, he joined the CIA at 30 years old. He claims he has skills with sniper rifles, such as the MM Tac50, SVD, Barrett 50 calibers, and he uses a Glock 18.

Adam also had brown hair and blue eyes, and is measured up to six feet and two inches. According to the narration block, Adam is impatient.

Abdullah Rashid | Abdullah was born in Molong, Indonesia on the 1st of August, 1976. He joined the Agency on the 1st of September, 2001. Previously, he was a SWAT team member for an unspecified Indonesian police department. During his time as a STAW member, he utilized the HK-416 and the P227 Handgun. The Agency sent him to Afghanistan and eventually to Iran, and almost was assigned to Pakistan at some point in time.

Abdullah has black skin complexion with black hair and brown eyes.

Aminah Hamid | Aminah was born in Singapore on the 9th of September, 1980. His father was a "grunt for Al-Qaeda" and was radicalized when Aminah was 16 back in 1996. Aminah's mother took care of him. His father was shot by a Singaporean SWAT officer in his own home with while Aminah hid under a bed. On the 11th of September, 2001, he joined the Agency and went to Pakistan to hunt Islamic extremist outposts.

Aminah has tan skin complexion with black hair and brown eyes.

Dmitri Petrov | Dmitri was born in Stalingrad, USSR on June 13t, 1968 and served in the Soviet Army from the 12th of June, 1986 to the 25th of December, 1991. Three days later on the 28th of December, 1991, the Agency found him in Tyumen and recruited him that same year. At some point in 2009, he was sent off to Thailand. Before the Panau case, he was off fighting in Eastern Ukraine with pro-Russian separatists.

Zhang Lin | Zhang was born in Shanghai, China on the 14th of February, 1995. Despite him growing up poor, he wanted to be a warrior or a fighter of some kind. He gained the ability to be proficient in hand-to-had combat and all kinds of small arms. He was introduced to firearms in Hong Kong back in 2009. While he frequented illegal gun clubs, that is where he met his first Agency contact.

He described his first mission where he was sent to Yemen to find a Yemeni-born male who escaped from American custody in El Paso, Texas. The person was wanted for "many counts of stalking, trespassing, theft, assault, a few counts of rape, kidnapping, and many other acts of crime," and it was Zhang's job to hunt him down. The wanted individual as guarded by two handfuls of AQAP terrorist members, and Zhang had to scavenge the entire building to find the wanted individual.

This character had the most writing put into any character.

USAF Pilots Elang and Yuta | These pilots are inconsequential characters. Given the fact that they are piloting an Agency C-130, they are likely commissioned officers. Their backgrounds are not known. "Pilot" is not a rank. They both can speak Indonesian and Malaysian, and were both born in Singapore.

Daniel Hawkins tells the pilots that they will not be returning to the U.S. and will be stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea. This is not at all how determining how people get stationed works. This is a result of extremely poor writing and not knowing how the military actually works (at the time of initially writing this.)

Colonel Qaid Shing | He is one of the commanders of the Paya Laus military base.

Colonel Ayad Agung | He is also one of the commanders oft he Paya Laus military base.
