Just Cause 1 Remake is a project by User:QWTF spy to produce an entire remake of Just Cause. This page will detail some recons to the story and overall changes to the gameplay.

Plot[]
Overall, the plot of the remake will be the same as the original Just Cause.
It takes place in San Esperito in 2006, as Agency operative Rico Rodriguez is dropped off on the island nation to help overthrow Salvador Mendoza, a military dictator who has ruled San Esperito since 1970. The Agency believes that he is responsible for the kidnapping of the pope, and that his regime is in possession of weapons of mass destructions. They also wish to halt an invasion of a neighboring country allied to the United States by Mendoza's forces.
Retcons[]
- Salvador Mendoza has been in power since 1970 (the year that Just Cause 1 was originally supposed to take place) instead of just a week.
- The kidnapping of the pope returns.
- Salvador Mendoza invaded a US-friendly country (presumably Cuba).
- The dictator would have two sons who help run his government.
Gameplay changes[]
- You will be introduced to the grappler gun and the hand grappler. It will explain how Rico got his hand grappler.
- Police will return but downplayed.
- Statues, propaganda billboards, and trailers, etc will be destructible.
- The Esperito city is bigger.
- There will be 64 missions.
- Liberating bases, this will be optional.
