Jahran, or Islamic Republic of Jahran, is a country in Just Cause 5: Jahran. It's located on Jahrani peninsula in Middle East. It's being occupied by Islamists, who are leaded by general Sultan Mohammad Al-Manari.
It's 900 km2 sized, and populated with 128 000 people. It has capital in Shahbad city, that originally was called Zaffariya.
Brief history[]
Territory of modern Jahran was populated by Persians, but Arabs bought the peninsula from them. First city in Jahran, Alkadimbad, was built by Arabs in 5th century.
In 16th century, Portuguese sailors stopped on Jahrani peninsula. They found Alkadimbad fortress, where they were buying food and need things. They also told the Portuguese king what they found, and trade from Jahran started.
In 19th century, British soldiers decide to occupy the territory and make a colony. They signed a pact with local Arabs, and the colony was named Sandy Coast. Arabs were selling dates, sand and cotton. Later, British occupants started to extract oil from Jahrani land.
After oil ended, British gave independence to Arabs. It happened in 1940s. Alkadimbad was chosen to be the capital (now it's just a district in Shahbad). Jahran became a sultanate, but only for 10 years. In 1958 a revolution made Jahran to become a republic. This continued until 2021, when Al-Manar party members occupy the country.
