Plot[]
The title card opens like a book, with a mysterious voice narrating the story. Garland and Vfen are returning from their meeting and have to make many improvements. One major change is that they needed to combine their studios to lower production costs, creating King Taso Conglomerate. After explaining all that, they get a call from Adele, who needs them on Earth after getting calls of a disturbance somewhere. The team reaches the White House, with Garland feeling a tingling on her jacket. She lifts the side of the jacket and sees badges form there.
Apparently, the disturbance was a monster ruining a wedding in Versailles, and Adele gives them her plane to get there. A few minutes later, they arrive and look for the wedding, which Adele gives them the coordinates of. They enter the restaurant and find the monster, who is hiding in the darkness. Mira listens closely to the sounds this monster makes and starts feeling sorry for it, as it is whimpering silently. She lights a candle (the bistro is completely dark) and inches closer to it. The light frightens her (monster), but it is slowly able to calm down after listening to the background music.
It turns on the light and everyone goes back to their business. Instead of going back to Washington, D.C. to report on the resolved matter, Mira decides to ask the monster why she is still shy. Luckily, the monster can speak English and tells her she is in love with someone but is afraid of rejection. Mira insists that she needs to go to him and offers to be near her in case things go wrong.
They go to the man, who turns out to be the Grinch, and Mira sits a couple tables away. Coincidentally, the Grinch was on his own date with a human. She (the date) then breaks up with him after seeing that another woman is interested in him and is even shaped like him.
Seeing that the Grinch is now saddened, the monster suggests he steal her heart back, as she saw it work before. He says that he has some things that may help him do that back at his home, but has no way to get there quickly. Suddenly, Lee comes in from the sky to carry the team, the Grinch, and the monster.
The next scene sees them at the Who's area, which is in another universe. The only problem is that it is a snowflake and they are too big to fit on it. Sheldon calls Hem and tells her their predicament, prompting her to quickly make a self-shrinking shrink ray. She sends it to them via a transition and warns them that it is not her best nor most creative work as it was only made in a few seconds. Sheldon tries it on himself as a test, but it can only shrink itself. Fortunately the Grinch can shrink as his canon counterpart is way smaller than a snowflake.
He goes to Mount Crumpit and gathers all the things he needs for his plan. He grows back to normal size and Lee takes them back to Versailles. The Grinch looks around for the lady and finds her still at the bistro. Instead of talking to her, he kidnaps her and takes her to the local hospital. The team and monster rush after them.
The team gets exhausted from the running, so Rico decides to chase after them until the Grinch stops at Dourdan, where a hospital became abandoned. The latter runs inside the building, with Rico following suit. When the Grinch and woman are both in an operating room, the former lays her on the operating table and puts her under anesthesia.
Once she is unconscious, he inserts his arm into her left superclavicular fossa until he can feel her heart and take it out. He lays it on a tray and leaves to get more. While the room is left unattended, Rico enters it and puts the heart in ice. With the heart now protected, he calls Mira and informs her of the situation. Mira tells the others of the news and the monster clarifies that she did not expect him to take her advice literally. Lee comes back to take them to the hospital to assist Rico.
The next scene sees Rico putting the heart back in, connecting it to the body, and closing it up. He cotarizes the hole (which was only at the inserting point) and takes the woman out of her anesthesia. All the while, the others are watching until the Grinch returns to continue the now reverted surgery. The monster tells him that she did not mean him to take her advice literally, and he walks up to the woman, who is now even more willing to reject him after being informed of his involvement in the operation.
Because of this rejection, the monster feels sorry for him and offers to be his wife. While they are talking, Mira asks Rico how he was able to do the operation, with him telling her that it was one of the many things he picked up from The Agency. Everyone then exits the hospital and it spontaneously explodes. The end.
Trivia[]
General[]
- This episode introduces a new feature for Garland, new badges under her jacket.
- Fourth-wall break: The background music soothes the monster.
- Irony: The monster was afraid of the Grinch rejecting her, yet he gets rejected instead.
- The ending is a more random version of the ending for Hospital Stay.
- The first half of the surgery scene was based on a dream User:IndigoApocalypse1502 had once.
- This is the 10th segment to include a character's name in the title.
Cultural references[]
- The title is based on the 1957 book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".
- The plot, however, is loosely based on it. Instead, it mostly focuses on a monster being in love (the dream is referenced near the end).
- The silhouette of the monster resembles the Grinch.
- Max (his dog) appears in a photo.
Notebook Synopsis[]
- This was originally written on a notebook with the following synopsis: "A lady meets the Grinch, and falls in love with him. The Grinch knocks her out and surgically removes her heart."
- Later a document synopsis was created: "A lady falls in love with The Grinch, only to have her heart literally stolen."
