With Di Ravello's death and the fall of the government, many politicians supporting the Di Ravello government came together to form the Front of National Unity. Diego Di Domizio was chosen leader and they began campaigning in the small conservative towns in Insula Striate. The Front was not popular amongst voters, so a coalition was formed by the Front of National Unity and the Conservative People's Party called Federation Medici.
Di Domizio Leadership (2015-2021)[]
Despite no compromises on policy between the Conservative People's Party and the Front of National Unity, the Conservative People's Parties more liberal conservative stances are seen as the reason for the success of the coalition in the 2016 election. The coalition received 24.7% of the popular vote, winning 56 seats in the chamber, 7 of which are Conservative People's Party, and 35 in the Senate, 12 of which are independent senators.
In 2017 due to disagreement on voting on New Flag legislation 16 MP's left the Federation Medici parliamentary caucus, 5 Conservative People's Party MP's left and joined the People's Force (Forza Popolare), and 11 Front of National Unity MP's joined the new Medici is First Party, and later formed their own parliamentary caucus.
During February 2019 the Conservative People's Party opted out of signing another coalition agreement with the Front of National Unity and on the same day they left Federation Medici. The next day the Conservative People's Party signed a coalition agreement with the People's Force, We Are Still Here Movement, and the Change! Party forming the People's Coalition. A week later the People's Coalition Parliamentary caucus was formed by all 7 original Conservative People's Party MP's
During March 2019 4 independent senators joined the Front of National Unity, including Erico Andreotti, who claimed that the party needed to be saved from itself.
During the 2019 election campaign, many credit the success of Federation Medici to the 'reformist' or 'Andreotti-wing' of the coalition, which campaigned similarly to the Conservative People's Party during the 2016 election, on a platform of conservative and nationalist values however denouncing Di Ravello's actions. This lead to a disappointing 5.0% of the popular vote however the party managed to stay in parliament.
In November 2019, Erico Andreotti announced he would like to be the party's presidential nominee, leading to the party leadership's decision to hold a Primary. Erico Andreotti and Diego Di Domizio fought for the party nomination.
In April 2020, Erico Andreotti beat Di Domizio in the primary election, two weeks later as the presidential nominee, Andreotti demanded Di Domizio step down from party leadership. Diego Di Domizio stepped down later that week, and a month later, left with other former members of party leadership for the extreme-right Di Ravello Movement (D.R.M.).
Andreotti Leadership (2021-present)[]
The week after Di Domizio stepped down Erico Andreotti was elected chairman of the Front of National Unity at the party congress.
In March 2021, the Front of National Unity voted for it's dissolution, and later voted for the formation of Federation Medici as a party with Erico Andreotti as its leader.
In January 2022, the party voted in favour of the motion of No Confidence in the Fauci Government and supported Milo Parola's technical government.
