Extended Reach is a mission in Operation Indigo.
Plot[]
Brook Warren takes Rico back to the cell block, freeing Mira and Tom, who are surprised at him being okay. She then tells the other inmate he's free to go as he did his job. Brook explains that they were not in an official prison. The facility went off the radar years ago in favor of a newer, safer holding site. She then goes on to say that the mysterious faction that took them is not affiliated with her, she actually freed the trio from another much more dangerous prison elsewhere on the planet.
Brook lets them go after warning them to be on their toes. Rico opens the bag, putting on his gear. He comments on the sweat, wondering who else was tampering with it. Mira explains that Agosto Velasquez stole it, sold it to a guy, he turned it to his boss, and they passed it onto Brook. She then kept it as evidence against Agosto, and gave it to Mira after the trial. The latter was then pushed into the back of a black van, Crook and Nancy hijacked the van, Mira gave the gear to the rightful driver to use against the criminals, and he gave it back before parting ways. That is why it became sweaty, which Rico does not mind now that she explained it.
Rico tries using the gear, but has trouble after all the years without it. Tom suggests they go to a remote place he knows where he can get used to the gear. They go to a coastal clearing near the city, where the lessons begin. What follows is a montages of Rico getting used to it, with the ways he messed up being listed in the Trivia section. After so many fails, he finally learns everything about it. He is now ready for whatever is next.

- These are all the ways Rico messes up with his gear:
- He grapples correctly, ripping his arm off like it would in real life. Right after this, Tom fuses it back on.
- He got balled up in his parachute, which the others free him out of.
- When he tries his hoverboard, he stands still on it, then plunges into the river, forgetting to use his grappling hook for momentum.
- More to be added, as there were other mistakes.
- This mission reveals that Rico has a slightly different technique he uses for his grappling hook that prevents his arm from tearing off.
- This is the first mission in the fan fiction that pokes fun at how Rico defies logic.
- The original idea of this mission was for it to be titled "Extended Extent". This was a mission that was supposed to be much later in the story, but a plot was not decided, so it was repurposed into this one.
- This is the first mission in Chapter 1 to be from the reserve. Previous reserved missions were Rough Lees and Reunion, respectively.
