Plot[]
A helicopter is flying around Jévr, with Gabriela as the pilot and some snipers on the sides. She lands at the clearing outside the cave and searches inside it, but the target is nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, Garland is on a stage in Xite Qesinu, finishing another commercial featuring Merqet, this time being a rerun. After said commercial ends, she is about to start the first bit, but is interrupted by Zhuinella. She warns the audience of a potential catastrophe that could come soon, but Garland pushes her out of the way so she can start the bit.
She heads backstage to answer Jasper's call, with him informing her that she is surrounded, with her looking outside and confirming she is not and hangs up. While she is meeting up with Cameron, Mira, Rico, and Sheldon to discuss the bit, a cloaked figure comes onto the stage.
They call Sadiyah to the stand and asks if she misses her parents, which she responds that she does. Zhuinella comes out again and is about to give the audience another warning when a loud vibration is heard. She says that this is what she thought would happen and has Lee take the audience away from the drama. Rico comes out of backstage, with him and Zhuinella closing the portal before whatever could happen does happen.
The two fall back relieved, but now the cloaked figure sees them. They ask Rico if he really knows if his father is dead, with him replying that he was shown proof. Before the figure can do anymore, Gabriela comes in with her chopper, hoping to have found Garland. Cameron, Mira, and Sheldon come out to witness the commotion. Since the figure is thrice the height of an average human, it is easily able to take down the chopper, injuring the passengers and Gabriela.
Cameron, Mira, Rico, Sheldon, and Zhuinella all help them out before it explodes. Suddenly, an extremely bright light starts coming closer, who is none other than Zún, who saw the explosion. The figure sees him and throws the wreck at him, but he is unfazed by it and welds a sword out of one of the helicopter blades.
Instead of attacking, he opens the cloak to reveal a person underneath, but they are not Garland. She is still backstage, but soon comes out to see a destroyed stage. Lee comes back, and Zún has them get water from the nearest chasm, which they do. When Lee comes back with it, they apply it to the vicinity.
Zún explains that the onus went to the wrong person, and that person was too weak to survive it. He transfers it to the person it was actually meant for, Garland. Another chopper comes in to replace the destroyed one. Gabriela walks up to Garland, who is surprisingly ready to face her consequences. Before they can go, she hands her position to Cameron, giving him her jacket, cap, and walkie-talkie in the process. She puts her hands forward expecting handcuffs, but Gabriela does not have any, instead ordering her to get in the chopper. She does and they fly away.
With that done, more onuses fly into an accessory of the following characters: Cameron, Lee, Mira, Rico, Sadie, Sheldon, and Zún. Zún says that 7 other people received an onus, which he explains is a responsibility the person must fulfill. The mission ends here.
