The Boyd Interceptor is a performance sedan in Just Cause: Hawaiki. It is in the Sports vehicle class.
"A second-hand weapon, famed for use by bootleggers down under, the Interceptor now finds itself wound into the hands of crime-lords and bogans all across Hawaiki - easily outpacing the inventory of the local police force while remaining practical and robust enough to skim the potholes and gravel that make up the majority of the island's roads. So what does the department do? They buy their own - I mean hey, it didn't earn the reputation 'Interceptor' from nothing." - In game description.
Appearance[]
It's a modern sedan with various styling cues hinting toward its rather quick performance, those being side vents and a small factory spoiler that spawns on some cars.
It is inspired by what is considered by some to be modern 'Australian Muscle', a class dominated by powerful four-door V8 saloons such as the Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore. These are the two cars from which it draws the most inspiration, however the design of the front end appears most similar to the Chrysler 200, and a rear end and light bar inspired by the Kia Stinger.
Overall, it is intended as a Homage to, and a modern take on the Chrysler Valiant, another car in the 'Australian Muscle' market, but cut earlier on in 1981.
Performance[]
Very fast in a straight line, not so much in the corners; however compared to what one might expect from a heavy sedan, handling isn't awful.
As the description suggests, it's quite durable and isn't easily affected by ramming, making it a good pick for a getaway, especially having four seats for passengers.
Locations[]
- It can be owned either by purchase or being taken to a garage.
- In traffic, albeit rarely.
