The Blue Coalition or La Coalizione Blu was an electoral bloc in the New and Improved Medici project.
It participated in the First and Second Parliamentary Elections. It was formed by leaders of parties actively supporting the Rebellion in order to beat the pro-Di Ravello Federation Medici. Its final leader was the European Medici leader Ulfo Cervone.
The coalition dissolved in November 2021.
History[]
The Blue Coalition was a coalition of liberal and social democratic Parties in 2015 to win the upcoming election as a united opposition to beat the pro-Di Ravello Federation Medici lead by Diego Di Domizio.
In November 2015 the We Are Still Here movement, after lengthy coalition talks, decided to part ways with the coalition. The People's Force also decided to run without the coalition.
In May 2016 the coalition won a majority in Parliament and the European federalist European Medici Party became the biggest party in the lower house of Parliament with Ulfo Cervone becoming the prime minister.
In July 2016 the coalition chose Rosa Manuela as their presidential candidate.
In July 2017 the Populists with Rosa Manuela was founded by President Rosa Manuela and many Blue Coalition MPs left, including one communist MP and gained 30 seats in parliament, increasing their majority to 120 seats.
In October 2017 the Populists said they would part ways with the coalition, but would stay in the government with the Blue Coalition.
In February 2019 the Minority Front left the coalition and joined the People's Coalition with People's Force, We Are Still Here and Change Party.
In the 2019 election, the coalition lost their majority and became the fifth largest caucus in the fragmented parliament.
In 2019, the coalition was invited to the government by Esci, along with the Populists with Rosa Manuela.
In October 2021, the Liberal Socialist Party was dissolved and the Social Liberal Party was formed. All former Liberal Socialist MPs joined the new party.
After conflict due to recent election failures the Blue Coalition dissolved.
