The Bering F39 Lynx is a vehicle in IronClaw's Just Cause X: Global eXchange series.
Appearance[]
This multirole VTOL was made specifically for the U.S. Navy and USMC, fitting all the demands of aircraft carrier based jets. They went into full production by 2014, and had already proved themselves to be a valuable addition to the U.S. Air Force in the Syrian Civil War.
During the Kyungastani campaign, Lynxes were used for close air support and air-raid missions, hitting hard frontline troop and vehicle formations of the Russian and Kyungastani armies. However, most deep-strikes behind enemy lines were handled by drone bombers. These VTOLs were also widely used to combat Russian jet fighters.
Performance[]
It's a heavily armed, but poorly armored jet. Due to its VTOL capabilities, it can hover around the battlefield, delivering deadly strikes to armored units and structures, but its anti-air capabilities are somewhat on par with the URGA Sokol. While the Russian fighter outguns and overpowers the Lynx, its stealth capability (which means that enemy guided missiles are useless) and better agility makes it easy for the VTOL to outmaneuver the Sokol and strike with precision.
Trivia[]
- It's made by Bering.
- It is based on real life Boeing X32 Fighter jet prototype.
- It's called a "lynx" because it's short.
