Archipelago Brigade (Бригада «Архипелаг») is a geographically detached unit belonging to Wagner Group - a Russian-sanctioned private military company in Just Cause: Panauan Horizon.

Background[]

Archipelago Brigade is a geographically detached unit belonging to Wagner Group based from the Russian Federation. During the conflict between the Republic of Panau and the Senja Selatan, the commander of the Palau Dayang Terlena Air Force Base contacted certain connections and associates in Russia for support and assistance. During extensive meetings and discussions, an agreement was made between Wagner Group and the commander of the aforementioned Panauan Air Force Base to create a geographically detached unit to assist in securing the Lautan Lama Desert.

Arrangements[]

The Archipelago Brigade is only permitted to operate within the Lautan Lama Desert's geographic limits, with the Panau Tengah Bay (Senja Selatanian country) and the Senjakala Islands (also Senja Selatanian country) being their limits. The private military company is not permitted to extensively interact, fraternalize (mingle), or do anything with Panauan civilians. In fact, while not required, they are expressly encouraged to stay away from civilian areas unless if civilians are either being attacked or under siege by the Senja Selatanian Armed Forces.

As per the FEAR Act of 2017, they are not legally allowed to be assisting the Armed Forces of the Republic of Panau, which legally renders them as an illegal paramilitary faction. With this, while the Archipelago Brigade is not permitted to engage their allies within the Panauan military, they are permitted to engage the Panauan military only if and when necessary and unavoidable. Much like civilian settlements, the Archipelago Brigade is heavily encouraged to stay away from opposing or "by the books" Panauan military establishments. However, members of the Archipelago Brigade are allowed to seek refuge in allied Panauan military bases.

There was a business deal consisting of the Lautan Lama Desert's extensive security from the Archipelago Brigade, which means that "the Senja Selatan not step one inch onto Panauan desert", while the other half of the deal states that the Archipelago Brigade is allowed to be afforded certain bases to establish their foothold (also on behalf of Russia and certain other CSTO countries) and allow them to operate in certain parts of South East Asia.

Considering that the Archipelago Brigade had successfully fended off the Senja Selatan from taking the Lautan Lama Desert since early 2018, both sides are greatly benefiting from their deals.
