Apple Juice is a mission in Operation Indigo.
Plot[]
A minute before Stranger Danger ended, the lady explains to Mira that a random guy ran up to her and tied her to the stopway, then ran up to the airplane and killed the pilot. When they and Tom board the plane, then Rico quickly tells them that the passengers told him of a safe place nearby. He flies the plane in that direction, but soon needs fuel.
After an hour in the air, the plane starts acting up and slowly descends as soon as it crosses into New Jersey. Tom finds an airport in Old Bridge Airport between Princeton and Asbury Park. Since most fuel stations are out of order, they need fuel from New York. Because of this, Rico has Mira guard the plane while he gets the fuel. The scene then cuts to Rico nearing New York, but remembers he can't cross.
He tries anyways, but gets knocked in the Raritan Bay. He goes so deep in the bay that he ends up making a hole in the bay's bed. The scene then transitions to a dolphin (its icon is colored grey). It surfaces for air, then swims down to Rico and picks him up. It then breaches over a small peninsula, dropping him in the process. After a few hours, the scene transitions to the airport, where Mira and Tom are wondering what is taking him this long, then the scene cuts back to Rico waking up.
He realizes he made it to New York, and the dolphin did not make it across the peninsula. He pushes it in the bay, immediately making it an ally. The dolphin offers a ride to wherever, which takes him to the fuel station. After collecting the fuel, the dolphin takes him back to New Jersey. He thanks the dolphin and flies back to the airport and fuels the airplane, ending the mission.
Trivia[]
- The title literally refers to a beverage, but metaphorically to the fuel station being in New York City, which is at times referred to as "The Big Apple".
- The original title was going to be "Haven Havoc", before the safe haven ended up not being reached yet.
- This mission was originally going to end with the people arriving at the safe haven, but the fuel problem was added as the plot progressed.
- The dolphin may or may not appear in a future mission.
- The plane is a 737, the first real-life vehicle in the story. Once Operation Indigo officially begins, completely new objects will be added with their own articles.
- Not counting 60 Hours In, which starts with a number, this is the first mission alphabetically in Operation Indigo.
