While this character remains the same in history and characteristics, the name of the character had changed to Bujang "Delapan" Raja. As seen in the trivia section, this character had the same name as it did from the Just Cause 2: Panauan Uprising story. However, the name was mostly just a placeholder and the name did not seem to fit. This is not a cut character, but it can be classified as cut content or repurposed content.

Background[]

Abdullah Rashid was born on September 1st, 1976 in Malang, Indonesia. The whereabouts of his parents and confirmation of any siblings are presently unknown.

Abdullah joined the Indonesian National Police on April 19th, 2002 when he was 26 years old. A year after training and on the job training, he found himself amongst one of the first police officers to respond to the Marriott Hotel bombings in 2003. Abdullah and other officers cordoned off the area as paramedics arrived to the scene and evacuate the victims of the terrorist attack. Upon this evet, this inspired Officer Rashid in joining Detachment 88 with the hopes and hopes and aspirations of preventing more of these kinds of attacks around Indonesia.

Time in Detachment 88[]

Some time in 2003 or 2004, Officer Rashid became a member of Detachment 88, which is one of Indonesia's top law enforcement squads that consist of counter terrorism and counter intelligence.

Officer Rashid, amongst other officers in Detachment 88, were involved in the 2005 Palau Market Bombings, and spent four years investigating the fugitives and criminals involved with the bombing, all while working on other criminal cases. On September 17th, 2009, Detachment 88 successfully located the terrorist known as Noordin Mohammed Top - a Malaysian Muslim extremist who lead the the Palau Market Bombings. Officer Rashid was participated in the raid of Noordin Mohammad Top's compound. His actions caught the attention of the Agency, and they began looking into the situation more closely.

In 2011. Officer Rashid was a survivor of a suicide blast within a mosque, located within a local police compound. As a result, Officer Rashid had to undergo extensive medical treatment and physical therapy. However, due to this, he and his agency mutually agreed that he was no longer physically fit to serve in Detachment 88. However Officer Rashid's medical expenses - to include physical therapy, counseling services, and so on, would be paid for in their entirety. The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia also offered an early medical retirement from the police force, which he gladly accepted.

Introduction to The Agency[]

Agency case handler Amanda Torres investigated the raid on Noordin Mohammad Top's compound and the officers involved. She was well aware of the creation of Detachment 88, and looked into all of the individual officers involved in the raid. At this time, she found Officer Abdullah Rashid. Amanda sent a letter to Officer Rashid to his office, expressing intentions to discuss global and regional security, and suggested that they met at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia.

Officer Rashid complied to the letter and eventually met case handler Amanda Torres. During their discussion of global security and terrorist monitoring, she brought up the proposal of joining the Agency to do the same job. To her dismay, Officer Rashid turned down the invitation to the Agency because he had just joined Detachment 88 and wanted to stay on the side of the Republic of Indonesia. However, she did agree to keep the invitation open in the future in case if he did change his mind and wanted to join.

After the aforementioned suicide blast that Abdullah Rashid had survived, endured, and recovered from, he sought out case handler Amanda Torres for Agency employment. After further discussions of the previous events, Amanda Torres deemed Abdullah physically and mentally fit to serve the Agency, and kept him in the local area.

In March of 2013, Abdullah was tested on his abilities to disguise and retrieve intelligence, and was tasked to pose as a member of the Royal Malaysian Marines and gathered intelligence on Malaysian activities in the area - which includes the Sultante of Sulu. With this he did assist with locating and capturing numerous militants in the area.

Later on in June 28th of 2016, Abdullah Rashid was visiting a bar where he was posing as a Malaysian tourist. In reality, he was working on tracking the movements of terrorist militants in the area. During his time hanging out in the Movida Bar, two Malaysian Islamic terrorists threw a grenade into the bar, which wounded 8 individuals. One of the individuals was a tourist from China. Abdullah successfully passed off as a local from Indonesia and was medically created there in Malaysia. From there, Abdullah left Malaysia after yet another terrorist attack that he was involved in and returned to Indonesia. With Amanda Terres' permission, he was able to "unwind" and work for a private security firm and remain on standby for the Agency.

Trivia[]

  • In the July 23, 2024 / Version 7 draft of Just Cause: Panauan Contingency, Abdullah Rashid was renamed to "Bujang "Aziz" Raja."
    • However, Abdullah Rashid stuck only due to the author using a Version 6 draft from (March, I think) which had the old name. (The author frequently uses whatever material is in front of him at that time to research these characters for their wikia pages.)
  • The name "Aziz" was chosen as an agent name for no particular reason, which is odd considering that it does not really fall in line with how other agents are named.
    • At the time, the author was trying to find names and found this and stuck with it. Aziz is a character in Call of Duty: Black Ops, and also shares the same name with one of his favorite comedians, Aziz Ansari. The name "Aziz" may be unlikely to stay, as it is primarily a placeholder name.
